Keanu is one of the people that even though I've never met him, he has a special place in my heart. While growing up in this world, it is so easy to desire skill, fame, money and above all, happiness. For me, he is the perfect example of someone who seems to have got it all, but still stays true to himself and his values.

Therefore I admire him for staying so down to earth, humble and 'ordinary' in his position. That, despite all the trauma, grief and sadness he has endured, he radiates optimistic energy. And he reminds me that happiness is found in little, seemingly ordinary things. 

For that reason I painted him. To remind myself of his very interesting presence, traits and outlook on life. Little fun fact: Reddit user MegaUltra9 commented that for some reason, he/she thinks that I look like someone that would hang out with Keanu in real life and even though I hardly can imagine it, I think about that remark often. Again, MegaUltra9, if you ever read this, you make me smile often. Such a nice and specific thing to say, thank you :) And damn, that would be the dream!

If there is a very fortunate series of events and by any chance Keanu reads this: I want to send you this painting, if you would like that :) And most of all: thank you for existing, Keanu. And for reminding us that life is not all happiness (which is a good thing), but that we - despite everything that could happen in this hectic world - can still find moments of joy, be grateful and most of all: be at peace.
